Prelude “Morning Has Broken,” (Rhett Barnwell) Michelle Good, accompanist
*Call to Worship liturgist
ONE: Before we got up this morning and decided to come to church,
ALL: God was waiting for us, to welcome us with grace.
ONE: When we are unsure of what to do; when we falter before the next step, ALL: we come to listen to God's voice, to learn from the One who teaches us all we ever need to know.
ONE: When we are surrounded by cruelty and injustice; when our fears cripple our souls,
ALL: God delivers us with steadfast love; we are set free to be God's sons and daughters.
*Hymn No. 578 “I Need Thee Every Hour” Ava Janus, Music Director
*Morning Prayer liturgist
God of every season, even now we sense the promise of autumn creeping in. Days are growing shorter. Children are returning to the routines of school. Time moves ever faster, it seems, and yet you remain constant—always with us, ever urging us into your holy presence. Help us to draw nearer to your gracious heart, as we seek to become a more complete and faithful church family. Amen.
