Palm/ Passion Sunday

Palm Sunday begins the last Act in the drama of purest Love, love in the jaws of humiliation. Like most of the profound moments of life, it is joy mixed with tears.

 Call to Worship      Conrad Heidt

One: We come to prepare for the holiest of weeks.
All: We will journey through praise, with joy on our lips; we will travel through betrayal and death, cradling hope deep in our hearts.

One: Jesus leads us through this week, and we will follow, for he is the life we long for, he is the Word who sustains us.
All: We wave palm branches in anticipation, we lay our love before him, to cushion his walk.
One
: Setting aside all power, glory, and might, he comes: modeling humility and obedience for all of us.
All: Hosanna! Hosanna! Blessed is the One who brings us the kingdom of God!

*Hymn No. 192  “All Glory, Laud, and Honor”

*Morning Prayer   Conrad Heidt

Holy God, your love goes beyond all limits. In the passion of your true Son, you take us beyond our highest ideals and beneath our deepest fears. We thank you for the sweet-sour celebration of Palm Sunday, for both the joy and the tears. Foster in us the desire and the will to follow Jesus without reserve, that we may be led into a peace that holds in time of trouble, and into a love that persists far beyond the outer rim of our present understanding. In the name of Christ Jesus our Savior. Amen!

Our mission at St. Paul United Church of Christ is to promote God’s plan of salvation in our church, family, and community.  Knowing that all blessings come from God, we seek to share these in the church universal and proclaim God’s good news of His love and compassion bringing together all people in Jesus Christ.

APRIL COMMUNITY OUTREACH MISSION As God’s people, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Our community outreach will revolve around doing “random acts of kindness”. These acts are meant to show others that they are cared for and to help us put the needs of others first. This allows the Holy Spirit to bear good fruit through us. You are encouraged to do one random act of kindness per day.  Please feel free to share your random acts of kindness by posting them on the board located in the Narthex. May the Light of Christ shine in and through you! Blessings                  ~ Pastor Cheryl Schalm
