Holy Week & Easter Observances

Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, when we gather to bless the Lord and remember our Savior Jesus Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem a joyful procession that leads us into the solemn mysteries of His Passion, His saving death on the cross, and His glorious Resurrection. This sacred account will be proclaimed during our Palm Sunday services on March 29th.
In keeping with the Church’s tradition, palms will be blessed and distributed to all worshipers at the conclusion of the service. As we come forward to the chancel steps to receive our palms—along with a personal blessing from Rev. Anderson and a presiding elder, we do so prayerfully, asking the Holy Spirit to prepare our hearts to follow Christ faithfully through the days of Holy Week.
This year we will be confirming our two Confirmands, Everett Hard and Bradley Patterson. We give thanks to God for their faith and for this important step in their walk with Christ. Please join us in keeping them in your prayers as we celebrate this joyful day in the life of our congregation.
The blessed palms may be taken home as a tangible reminder that Jesus is our King and that His love is both sacrificial and victorious.

Maundy/Holy Thursday April 6th

On Thursday, April 2nd, we warmly invite you to gather with us at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary as we remember the Last Supper that Jesus shared with His disciples on the night before His crucifixion. On this holy night, our Lord gave a new commandment: that we love one another as He has loved us. As we come to the Lord’s Table, we do so with gratitude, confession, and hope trusting in Christ’s abiding presence and His mercy for all who draw near to Him in faith.

Good Friday

On Friday, April 3rd, we invite you to join us for a worship service at Noon as we gather in the sanctuary. This will be a quiet and reverent devotional service as we remember our Lord’s final words and reflect on His great love for us. Together, we will sing beloved passion hymns, offer our prayers, and enter into holy silence at the foot of the cross.
As an expression of our shared faith and humility before God, we will enter and depart the sanctuary in silence—allowing our hearts to dwell on Christ’s suffering, to receive His peace, and to respond with quiet devotion and gratitude.

Easter Sunday

Join your church family and invite your neighbors as we gather in joyful praise to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ on April 5th. On this holy morning, we will proclaim the Good News: Christ is risen indeed! We rejoice in His triumph over sin and death and the promise of new life for all who trust in Him.
The chancel and sanctuary will be adorned with lilies, symbols of resurrection and purity, surrounding the wooden cross that reminds us of Christ’s sacrificial love and His victory over the grave. We will share Holy Communion together, giving thanks for His body given for us and His blood shed for the forgiveness of sins, and we will lift our voices in hymns of thanksgiving to our risen Savior and King. Following worship, all are invited to continue in Christian fellowship at an enhanced coffee hour in the fellowship hall.
