THE THIRD SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH DESIGNATED AS “MISSION SUNDAY.” The month of May, items will be collected for “Hero’s Closet.” Hero’s Closet Program offers clothing, personal items, and household goods to veterans at no cost. Whether they need attire for job interviews, exercise, leisure, or solemn occasions like funerals and weddings, Hero’s Closet ensures that veterans leave with their dignity intact. It’s a sanctuary where veterans find solace and practical assistance. A donation box will be placed in the narthex for anyone interested in donating toiletries (soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, etc.), socks, undergarments, etc.  Please contact Pastor Schalm with any questions.

EVERY DAUGHTER BANQUET MAY 23. All ladies are invited to our annual “Every Daughter Banquet,” Thursday, May 23, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “Garden Party”, so dress up and join in the fun! A buffet-style dinner will be served. Menu includes chicken, meatballs, scalloped potatoes, green beans, salad bar, rolls, dessert, and beverage—all for $5 per person. Children 5 years and younger are free. Special prizes will be given out, a 50/50 raffle and basket door prizes. This is a not-to-be missed event. Tickets can be purchased at the Kiosk in Fellowship Hall during Coffee Hour or by contacting Dan Case directly. Advance ticket purchase is required, no tickets will be sold at the door. Last day to purchase tickets is Sunday, May 19th. This year’s banquet is being co-hosted by the Girl Scouts, Women’s and Men’s Fellowships.

NO CPR/ FIRST AID CLASSES at this time due to lack of participants and scheduling conflicts.  Anyone interested please contact Kathy Williams and we will look to the late summer/ early fall to schedule classes.
THURSDAY EXERCISE CLASSES will begin the first Thursday in June (June 1)– not the third Thursday.  MAY 19, 11:OO A.M. HANDS ON ONLY CPR, West Room.

GRADUATE NAMES NEEDED FOR OUR PRINTED ROSTER If you or a family member are receiving a high school diploma, G.E.D., college degree, or continuing education certificate since last June, please contact Cindy Romas in the church office by May 29 for inclusion in the Baccalaureate/Youth Sunday Service, June 2.   All graduates are invited to participate in gown and mortarboard.  Forms are available from an usher or on our web page.

STRENGTHEN THE CHURCH OFFERING RECEIVED DURING MAY.  This offering of the UCC represents the time of Pentecost, the Birthday of the Christian Church.   Sunday May 19 is observed as Pentecost, however, we will be receiving this offering any Sunday in May.  Funds support new church starts, church revitalization, youth ministries, leadership development and more.  Please join in planting the seeds needed to grow and sustain our UCC denomination by making a gift.  An offering envelope is included in your May Tidings. There are also envelopes located in the Narthex.  See any usher for assistance.
