OPENING HYMN No. 2 “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee,” Tracy Hoffman, Music Director

UNISON OPENING PRAYER
O God, come to us, we pray, with the resources of thy power that we may be strong within.  We ask not for easy lives, but for steadfast faith.  We ask not to be freed from storms, but to be equipped with courage and a trustworthy compass to weather them.  We pray not for a smooth sea, but for an unshakeable ship, captained by our Savior Christ Jesus and guided home by our Heavenly Father.  In Jesus’ name we pray.    AMEN

ST. PAUL MORNING TIDE ANNOUNCEMENTS – July 17, 2022

WELCOME TO ALL SHARING TODAY’S SERVICE IN OUR SANCTUARY OR THROUGH FACEBOOK LIVESTREAMING.  Our livestreamed 10 a.m. service can be viewed on Facebook at other times as well.  An order of service and the pastor’s full message are downloadable from our church website (stpaulucctaylor.org) with a video recording of our worship together also posted by Sunday afternoon.

DUE TO THE RECENT SPIKE IN COVID INFECTIONS which have touched our own congregation, church members and friends are asked to mask and social distance for sanctuary worship.  Also, our usual post-service Coffee Hour has been put hold, resuming July 31.

OUR SEMI-ANNUAL MEETING is being rescheduled for the first Sunday of next month, August 7, due to the current Covid spike.  Plan on being present for that important meeting.

SURF’S DOWN!  Due to the recent spike of Covid cases, there will be no Sunday School this morning.  The tide will be riding high again though on July 24th.  Until then, keep on paddling and looking up!

SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS STILL SOUGHT to teach single session classes in late July and throughout August.  All lesson materials and snacks are provided. A sign-up sheet can be found on the Christian Education Welcome Center desk upstairs. You can also contact Pastor Schalm to secure a date and/or for more information. .

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2022 (VBS)CIRCLE G RANCH’ IS SCHEDULED FOR JULY 25 - 29. Please confirm your child/ren’s participation by signing up at the Welcome Center Desk upstairs. While VBS will not be open to the general public, friends and neighbors are welcome to join!  However, due to liability and shortage of chaperones, the sponsoring church member or parent is required to assist with chaperoning Friday’s Willow Metro Park pool field trip. Pre-registration helps ensure that supplies and staffing are sufficiently secured. Please contact Pastor Schalm with any questions.

A YOUNG ADULT REUNION & GATHERING is being organized for Sunday, August 14.  Following the church service, we will gather for pizza, fellowship, laughs, and remembrances.  Dearly-loved past youth chaperones Carolyn and Alyssa Brandt will be in town to join us.  Plan now to reconnect with past Youth Fellowship friends.

PLAN ON CELEBRATING A ‘BILL OF LOAN’ SHREDDING and the dedication of the sanctuary’s new grand piano at the ‘Happy Day’ Service planned for the last Sunday of the month, July 31.  Special ceremonies, music, and fellowship will all be part of that not-to-miss glad day as we acknowledge both the final repayment to our church endowment for  Family Room addition financing and the presence of a exiting and beautiful new instrument for our church’s music ministry.

THE NEW MEMBERSHIP PHONE DIRECTORY is available for pick-up today from the ushers before and after 10 a.m. worship.

TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY will meet telephonically this Tuesday, July 19, 10:30-12 noon, with printed lessons provided.  Please contact church office for call-in number.
