CALL TO WORSHIP

One:  A light has come that cannot be extinguished by darkness.

All:  We can trust that this light will guide our feet in the ways of God.

One:  Let us live in unity; of one mind and purpose.

All:  Let us not breed division but seek God’s single purpose together.

One:  We are called this morning to drop our nets and follow Jesus.

All:  Let us answer the call and raise our voices in prayer and praise.

INVOCATION / PASSING OF THE PEACE

Gracious Light-Bearer, into the shadows of our isolation you speak words of life and community.  Challenger of our lives, you call us from places we call home to lead us more deeply into the world you love.  With your gentle, healing touch you redeem the broken places of our lives, and you heal the wounded places of the earth.  Let our hearts be over-flowing with your reconciling love as we offer a sign of peace to one another and all the world.

Pastor: The peace of Christ be with you.  Congregation: And also with you!

FOR SECURITY REASONS our sanctuary’s front and east doors will be locked ten minutes after the start of morning worship. Those arriving late are asked to telephone the deacons and ushers (313-291-1221) or knock.  To exit out of these doors simply push the bar across them.
