Bless, O God, these palms which we bear this day that they may be signs of loyalty to the Messiah.  Amen.

All:  May our palms be signs of honor to our Savior, the Christ.

SUNDAY SCHOOL IS GATHERING upstairs this morning to enjoy crafts, snacks, and an outdoor Easter Egg Hunt, weather permitting.  There is no Sunday School next week. All children will gather in the sanctuary for Children’s Chapel Easter Sunday.

HOLY WEEK begins today with palms distributed.  Maundy Thursday Service with full bread and cup communion, April 6, 7: 30 p.m.; Good Friday Service, 12 noon, April 7; and Easter Morning Communion Service with special Fellowship Hall “Continental Breakfast,” 10 a.m., April 9.  Come share this important week of faith with Jesus Christ and your church family.

NEXT SUNDAY: EASTER SERVICE AT 10 A.M. with open communion for church members and friends.  At the close of the service the lily-adorned Easter Cross will be carried outside and set in place in front of the church. You may take any lilies you ordered after service.

LENTEN BIBLE & BOOK STUDY now through April 10, 7 p.m. in the Parlor. “You Were Made for This Moment, Courage for Today and Hope for Tomorrow” by Max Lucado held on Monday evenings. Anyone interested contact Pastor Schalm or the church office. Books are available for purchase.

THE YOUTH ARE HOLDING THEIR ANNUAL FLOWER SALE. The flowers are coming from Blocks Stand and Greenhouse. If you would like to order flowers, please see an usher to pick up an order form. Order forms need to be turned in NO LATER than MAY 1. Orders will be ready for pickup on Mother’s Day, May 14 after worship service. Any questions please contact Candace Poet.

YOUTH GROUP WILL GATHER FOR LUNCH on Sunday, April 23.  After lunch we will bike to Willow Metro Park.  Please contact Pastor Schalm for more information and to sign up.

OUR SPRING RUMMAGE SALE set-up begins Monday April 10 in both the fellowship hall and west room. Donations will be welcomed Tuesday, April 11- April 25, 12 noon. Donations can be dropped off Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tables will be set up with signs indicating where particular items should be deposited. Household items (kitchenware and small appliances) can be taken to the west room and put on tables there. Your cooperation is appreciated and will help with final sorting and displaying of goods. All donated items should be clean and in a good state of condition and repair for resale. Set-up volunteers are needed Monday April 10 to set up tables and racks and then beginning Tuesday April 11 the sorting of the donations will begin. Because of the shorter time between when we start collecting and the actual rummage sale, the more volunteers we have the quicker we can be ready. Further assistance will be needed Saturday April 29 for clean up. Please contact the church office (313-291-1221) or Trustee Toni Hill to volunteer.
