onsite or via Facebook livestreamed.  Our 10 a.m. service will also be posted on the St. Paul church web site under “Sermons, Bulletins, and Audio Services.”  As we worship today, let’s all seek to social distance, giving each other lots of space without congregating in the aisle, narthex, or vestibule.  Our congregation’s goal is to keep everyone healthy and safe.  Thanks!

BAPTIZED UNTO THE LORD Paislee Mae Harmon born February 4, 2021, to Mike and Jenna Harmon and baptized Sunday, September 26, 2021.  Sibling is Ryleigh.

THIS MORNING, ALONG WITH A BAPTISM, WE HAVE AN EMERGENCY FIRE DRILL.  Instructions will be given as to the way everyone seated in the pews and elsewhere in the building should exit for their safety.  Please follow directions from those safety and security volunteers wearing armbands, leaving the building as quickly and safely as possible.

 AFTER THIS MORNING’S FIRE DRILL, YOU MAY SIGN-UP FOR YOUR PICTORIAL DIRECTORY PHOTO SESSIONS TODAY in the West Room. Gary Peters can also answer any questions.  Online sign-up is available through www.ucdir.com, entering church code mi1410, password "photos".

COFFEE HOUR WILL BE OFFERED IN THE WEST ROOM after this morning’s fire drill.  Please use the West Lobby entrance as you find your way to coffee, donuts, and fellowship.                                                                                                                            

YOUTH BIBLE STUDY for post-high school students meets this coming Wednesday, September 29, 7 p.m. at Pastor Schalm’s home.  All post-high school young adults are invited and encouraged to join as we together study the Book of Hebrews.

RUMMAGE SALE DONATIONS may be dropped off at the church throughout the week ahead, 10:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and by advance appointment at other times.  Please call the church office by cell phone when you arrive for drop-off.  You are encouraged to place your donations in the appropriate Fellowship Hall table as indicated by the signage.  The sale is scheduled, October 7-9.  Small volunteer teams are needed throughout the week to help sort donations.  Please speak with Trustee Toni Hill or contact the church office to volunteer (313-291-1221).

TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY meets this Tuesday, September 28, 10:30-12 noon in the sanctuary.  All welcome.

CHANCEL CHOIR REHEARSALS CONTINUE Wednesday, September 29, 2021, 7 p.m. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary.  New voices are always welcome.  No auditions necessary.  For more information, please contact Music Director, Tracy Hoffman.

ST. PAUL’S EXERCISE CLASS meets Wednesday, September 29, 10:30 a.m., outdoors, weather permitting. For more information: Parish Nurse Kathy Williams.

NEXT SUNDAY IS WORLD COMMUNION SUNDAY with the sacrament offered at the 10 a.m. worship service to all church members and friends worshipping in the sanctuary or at home.  Elders will be distributing our communion “kits” with sealed wafer and juice in the narthex as you arrive.  Those following the livestreamed service are invited to use bread and juice from your kitchen will be consecrated by communion prayer during the service.  St. Paul Church welcomes to the sacrament all adult, baptized Christians whether or not formal members of our congregation.

CONDOLENCES to Cleora Pattenaude on the passing of her brother Ken Thorne.
