ST. PAUL MORNING TIDE ANNOUNCEMENTS – December 26, 2021

WELCOME TO ALL SHARING TODAY’S SERVICE IN OUR SANCTUARY OR THROUGH FACEBOOK LIVESTREAMING.  Our livestreamed 10 a.m. service can be viewed on Facebook at other times as well.  Both video and audio versions are posted online on our church web site by early Sunday afternoon at <www.stpaulucctaylor.org> along with a downloadable order of service and the pastor’s message.

SUNDAY SCHOOL WILL TAKE A POST-CHRISTMAS BREAK.  With Pastor Cheryl Schalm leading sanctuary worship this morning, there will be no Sunday School.  Class resumes next week, Sunday, January 2.

DUE TO THE COVID SURGE that is swamping local hospitals, our congregation will be joining other churches asking members to mask during sanctuary worship services where social distancing is more difficult to maintain.  The masking request will continue through February 6 with a monthly review by the St. Paul Safety and Security team and Church Council.  The goal is to keep everyone safe and well during the Christmas and Epiphany seasons.  No masking is necessary for church activities where children are not present and social distancing is possible.  Your support and cooperation are appreciated.  Disposable masks are available from the deacons if you do not remember to bring one.

THE ANNUAL MEETING OF OUR ST. PAUL CONGREGATION, approving a new budget and electing new Council members, is scheduled for Sunday, January 16, 2022, following the morning worship service.

FELLOWSHIP HOUR will be held today in our Fellowship Hall with coffee and donuts served.  All welcome!

THIS IS THE LAST SUNDAY TO RECEIVE THE CHRISTMAS FUND ‘VETERANS OF THE CROSS’ OFFERING for Retired UCC Clergy and Lay Persons. This offering provides “Thank You” gift checks directly to individual retired UCC clergy and lay church employees who find themselves facing unforeseen financial needs. Your generosity is a way of showing your support for these faithful servants of God. Donate online at UCC Christmas Fund, www.stpaulucctaylor.org/giving, or via the offering envelope included with your mailed December Tidings. On behalf of St. Paul’s Stewardship Team, thanks and God bless you!

A LOVE OFFERING FOR IMMANUEL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST IN OXFORD, directly touched by the recent high school shooting, will be received through Sunday, January 2, with a separate narthex tithe box reserved for your gifts.  The love offering will be presented to the Oxford UCC congregation when members of the St. Paul Choir perform in its sanctuary on Sunday, January 9.  Your check can be made out to St. Paul Church but designated as “Immanuel Love Offering.”

THE YOUNG ADULT BIBLE STUDY meets tomorrow, December 27, 7 p.m. at Pastor Schalm’s home.  While all current Bible Study members are vaccinated, the group masks up for everyone’s safety and well-being. All post-High School young adults are welcome and encouraged to join.

TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY meets Tuesday, January 4, 10:30 – 12 noon, West Room.  All are welcome.

ST. PAUL’S EXERCISE CLASS meets Wednesday, January 5, 10:30 a.m. in the West Room.
