MUFFINS FOR MOM MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION The Sunday School children, with the help of Men’s Fellowship, are honoring their mothers and the women of the congregation with a special Muffins for Mom continental breakfast. The celebration is this morning 10:00-10:30 a.m., in Fellowship Hall. Everyone is welcome.

CRADLE ROLL SERVICE HONORS NEWBORNS.  Infants born over the past year will be honored at our Cradle Roll service today.  As part of the service, parents are invited to process through the sanctuary cradling their babies as individual names are read and the congregation tinkles hand-held bells in their honor.  Pastor Drutchas will offer a prayer at the chancel steps.

 OUR 2019 EVERY DAUGHTER BANQUET is Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:30 pm.  The theme for this year’s event is Mardi Gras so come dressed up and join in the fun. This year’s Banquet features a Buffet Style Dinner, 50/50 Raffle and Special Basket Door Prizes.  As in past years, we will recognize those who have reached the age of 90.  The cost of a ticket is only $5.00, children twelve and under free.  All tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets can be purchased in the Church Office today or by calling the Church Office at 313-291-1221.  We are also looking for donations of items that can be used for the Basket Door Prizes.  This year’s event is sponsored by Dorcas, Women’s and Men’s Fellowship.

SEWING GUILD’S next meeting will be May 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.  Bring a sandwich, coffee and dessert is provided.  No sewing experience is required, join us for fellowship and Food for Thought!

MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF THE ST. PAUL CONGREGATION who served in the Armed Forces—Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and National Guard--will be recognized during the Memorial Weekend Sunday services on May 26. A special time during worship that morning will highlight their service with their names read aloud. A prayer of thanks will also be offered for their role as peacemakers and peacekeepers.

SUNDAY, JUNE 2 ROCK HARD IN FAITH YOUTH FELLOWSHIP will lead the 10:30 a.m. Worship Service in Fellowship Hall. In addition to the youth led service, the Sunday School children will be sharing songs and dances they have learned throughout the year and offering their under-standing of lessons taught. Please join your church family for this annual Spring Program worship service. Children are asked to participate in a rehearsal held on Saturday, June 1st. All young people interested in participating in the service should contact Pastor Cheryl Schalm.

THANK YOU to everyone who donated various greeting cards to the office.  Your generosity is very much appreciated by our Visiting Elders and the entire church. As we have plenty at this time and our storage is at a premium, we will inform everyone when we can resume accepting donations again.  God Bless and Thank You all again!

HEALTH MINISTRIES - Exercise Classes – Mondays and Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. A donation of $3-$5 is invited.  Meditation classes - We will be learning and practicing breathing and meditation. We have resumed on Wednesdays at 12:30 & 3:00 p.m. Kathy Williams will lead the sessions. Caregivers Group - Meets for mutual support. Caregivers Group will meet on Monday, May 20, 7:30 p.m. Caregiving tips are shared on a confidential basis. Pastor Drutchas leads the session, assisted by Parish Nurse Kathy Williams. The group is open to everyone. Health/ Medical supplies – If you have or need medical supplies, such as walkers, wheelchairs, please contact parish nurse, Kathy Williams.  Matter of Balance Class Begins May 13 designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels. You will learn techniques to improve your balance. We will meet from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays May 13 through June 10. Snacks are provided. Donations are invited. This program is offered through the Agency on aging and the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan. Register by calling LaShawn Griffin at 734.222.98 Ext. 214 or Kathy Williams at church. Blood Drive coming Tuesday June 18.  Please Save-the-Date 1:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Please contact Kathy Williams if you are able/want to donate blood.

RED HOT PURPLE ANGELS Mama Mia! We will be going to the Theatre on the Avenue in Wyandotte on Saturday, May 18. Tickets are $16 each and are on sale NOW. We want to sit as a group so let Kathy or Sally know ASAP. You can call or text Kathy. Money is due by May 5. We may be able to add people following our order on April 18 if tickets are still available. Pay Kathy Williams, cash preferred.  Thursday, June 20, we will visit and tour Kirk in the Hills Presbyterian Church and gardens, Bloomfield Township. We will carpool from church leaving at 10:45 a.m. The tour begins at 12 noon and then we will be going to lunch. Michelle Matney is the contact for this outing. Please sign-up on the RHPA Bulletin Board in Fellowship Hall.

THE ST. PAUL CAREGIVERS’ GROUP will meet for their monthly gathering on Monday, May 20, 7:30 p.m. in the church parlor. The Caregivers group meet to share experiences and to provide mutual spiritual support in providing assistance and care to family members and friends. Led by Pastor Geoff Drutchas and Parish Nurse Kathy Williams, each session finishes no later than 9:00 p.m. All conversations within the group setting are confidential and newcomers are invited. PAUL CO-ED SOFTBALL PREPARES FOR FIFTEENTH SEASON. Everyone is welcome regardless of skill level. Great fun and fellowship!  Anyone interested in playing, coaching, or becoming team coordinator, please contact Christine (Mink) Rogers or the church office (313-291-1221) ASAP.  Games are on Tuesday evenings (beginning in May) at Thorn Park, Telegraph and King Roads in Brownstown.

GRADUATE INFORMATION REQUESTED  If you or someone in your family is receiving a degree this spring or has received a degree since last June (including a G.E.D.), please contact Cindy Romas in the church office (313.291.1221) no later than Wednesday, May 29, 2019.  All graduates are invited to participate in Sunday morning worship on June 2 in gown and mortarboard.

THE 2019 SUMMER MISSION TRIP PLANS ARE UNDERWAY, June 16 – June 22, we will be serving the Boston, MA area. We will be housed at the Village Congregational UCC church located in Whitinsville, MA. Fundraising events and activities continue all the way through June. Only twenty spots are available. Please contact Pastor Cheryl Schalm if you are interested in participating. The youth are selling stock to help fund their summer mission trip.  For a donation, shareholders are assured a personal letter from a youth mission trip participant, their name placed upon the Rock Hard in Faith mission trip banner and the knowledge that they have helped to shape a life in Christ.  Youth stock can be purchased during coffee hour at the KioskSaturday, May 25, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. the Youth are hosting a car wash and bottle drive in the circle driveway of St. Paul Church.  Drop off your unwanted returnables, and get your vehicle washed as well.
