DOUBLE WORSHIP SCHEDULE resumes today, 9 and 10:30 a.m. The church’s voice mail recording (313-291-1221) will maintain an updated service schedule. Child care is available during the 10:30 a.m. service.  Our nursery is located in the rear of the Sanctuary on the east side.

St PAUL SOUPER BOWL VI is scheduled for Sunday, January 27, 2019. A simple donation of $7.00 buy’s you a spoon, a support tray (holds 6 bowls of soup) and allows you to taste a variety of amazing soups prepared by local businesses as well as our own membership. Advanced tickets can be purchased at the KIOSK table on Sunday mornings or by contacting the Church office at 313-291-1221. The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in our own Fellowship Hall. All profits go to support the facility.  If you have a secret family recipe and would like to participate in Souper Bowl VI, please contact Jim Poet at 734-718-3137 or Dan Case at (734) 558-2585. 

CHILDREN’S CHOIR WILL RESUMES after the 10:30 a.m. worship service.  All children are invited.  Please see director, Sally Sigman for more information.

OFFERING ENVELOPES  If you use the smaller set of Offering Envelopes, it’s very  important that you write your name on each envelope if you wish to receive credit on  your annual contribution statement.  Our Financial Secretary Annette Thie has no way of knowing who made the contribution.  Beginning in 2020 the smaller sets will have your name and address printed on each envelope.

RED HOT PURPLE ANGELS  Thursday, January 24, 2019 is our planning meeting. Join us with suggestions for events, outings, etc. for the upcoming year. If you’re not able to attend, please share your suggestions/ ideas with Kathy prior to the meeting.  Please remember to check the shelf in the West Room for any gifts from your new Secret Pal.

Blood Drive - January 29, 2019 1:00-645 p.m. It’s important to sign up in advance.  Please make an appointment by contacting Parish Nurse, Kathy Williams, or complete a Make-a-Wish card and place it in the offering plate. You can also make appointments for/at your own convenience through the Internet. You will need to register & obtain a password. If you have questions, you can visit or contact the Red Cross blood donation center at 866-236-3276.
Adult Shingles and TDAP Immunizations - The current recommendation is to have a two-dose series, given 6 months apart, to protect adults over 50 even those that  had the previous one dose shot given before 2017. Call your insurance company to see what your co-pay will be as this can be expensive. The TDAP vaccination is the adult version of diphtheria, tetanus (lockjaw), and pertussis (whooping cough). The Hepatitis A vaccine is still recommended.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR OUR Annual Scrapbook Crop Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.  The cost is $40 which includes your cropping space, three meals, as well as snacks and beverages all day.  There will be venders, make and takes, demos, and raffles.  Even if you do not want to scrapbook, there will be something for everyone as you shop with our venders.  If you are a vender, or know of a vender, and they might be interested, please let me know.  We will be needing raffle and door prizes, as well as people to help that day.  This is a big fundraiser for BOF and the Christian Education Ministries.  Please contact Debbie Case by phone or email if you want more information.

USHERS NEEDED FOR WORSHIP SERVICES Anyone interested in volunteering can visit our new Usher Sign-up board located in the Narthex of the Church. Being an usher is easy and experience is not necessary. Our Deacons will be glad to answer any questions and walk you through training prior to the service.  All ushers are asked to be at Church thirty minutes prior to the service.  Any Deacon can assist you.

THE ST. PAUL BUILDING & GROUNDS MINISTRY is hosting its 12th Annual Wild Game Dinner Thursday, February 7, 2019.  Doors open at 5:30 p.m., hors d’oeuvres at 6:00 p.m. and a sit-down dinner at 7:00 pm.  It’s a fun filled evening with raffles, good eating and great fellowship.  This year’s menu will feature Buffalo, Wild Boar, Venison, Salmon, Turtle and much more.  Tickets are $30/each and can be purchased at the KIOSK table during Coffee Hour, or by calling the Church office at 313-291-1221 or by calling James Poet, Gary Staffeld, John Smith, Candace Poet or Dan Case.  We are also looking for donations of wild game food and any items that can be used for the raffles as prizes.


THE 2019 ALTAR FLOWER CHART Altar flowers are a very special way to honor  or memorialize that special someone in your life or even a special occasion (anniversary, birthday, graduation, etc.).  The cost for altar flowers is $30.00 (2 vases) or you may   purchase a side vase for just $15.00.  Please contact the Deacon after the service for assistance in getting your altar flowers or side vase.  Please check the flower chart for availability of Sundays or other occasions. Please use envelopes found in the pew racks to request altar flowers.  You may also contact the church office at 313-291-1221.

  ALTAR GUILD has opportunities for volunteers to maintain the altar candles and to  ensure the paraments (cloths on the lectern and pulpit) are changed accordingly.  There are no meetings to attend.  All materials and training are provided at your convenience.  For more information please contact Arlene Felske or Sue Mrowka.
